| Name: Scott Arlen Mitchell Meaning: The male name 'Scott' is of Old English origin, and its meaning, unsurprisingly, is "Scotsman." Aliases: None. Evolutionary Anomaly Class: Cerebral Intuitive Reaction - the ability to instinctively sense the actions of others and react accordingly. Intuitive Reaction, though seemingly a form of 'muscle precognition,' is actually something a bit closer to telepathy - the user subconsciously senses the process between thought and action in another individual, and thus is able to react in the most advantageous way possible. The user would be able to catch a vase knocked over by accident, stop a punch aimed at his face, or even dodge before someone fired at him. This gives the user an amazing ability to preempt most attacks. However, it is not infallible - Intuitive Reaction is useless against movement that is not created by sentient stimuli, such as a collapsing ceiling or a hidden landmine. As Intuitive Reaction is a cerebral ability, a foe with considerable telepathic resistance could prove equally difficult to react to. Finally, Intuitive Reaction is limited by the speed and capability of the user's body - the user may instinctively move to dodge a bullet, but if the bullet is fired from close enough range, it will hit. |

| At his core, Scott Mitchell is an optimist. Someone who always looks at the glass as half-full, who tries to see the silver lining in every cloud, and who doesn't let disappointments drag him down. His youth and idealism make him woefully easy to manipulate, as evidenced by his firm belief that he is fighting for a noble purpose, and that Mr. Linderman and his Astra Project are going to heal the world, a statement he believes even though he knows very little about the Astra Project himself. Being a Marine, Scott's loyalty to the causes and individuals he believes in is rock-solid, and he will not hesitate to fight for the sake of those causes or individuals. Incorrectly diagnosed at a young age with a learning disability, Scott grew up isolated from his peers, and as a result has little 'real-world' experience aside from his four years of military service. Because of this, Scott can be somewhat naïve, and is unaware of many things that most people take for granted. Pop culture references are usually lost on him. His natural inclination is to trust people, and he has had very little experience with betrayal or heartbreak. His relationship with his family is somewhat fractured, and he does not speak to them often. As a fighter, Scott is extraordinarily skilled, although he is only a mediocre marksman and relies heavily on his teammates for strategic and tactical advice. |
